Betsy From Patients Premium Collective (LDog)

I’d seen a lot of chatter in the comments after drums’ Besty review, so I was excited to see this one from LDog, too!  Maybe a stupid question, but are Betsy and Old Betsy the same genetics?

Looks:

I asked my tender if he knew what the genetics to Betsy were but he didn’t have a clue, and I haven’t had or heard of Betsy prior to Drums review.  This strain looked to have a decent peppering of hazy/cloudy trichomes that spread over the Betsy’s spear/cone shaped nugs.  I looked around the nugs some more and spotted a few areas where the trichomes were amber tinted.

Betsy looks solid, with tiny calyxes crammed next to each other and spouting out thick amber flared orange hairs, which most of are broken but contrast the dark green buds tremendously, which also has a lime green hue near the crown of the dry buds.  I could feel that buds would require scissors as the dense and partially dry buds would surely build of a layer of kief on my fingertips.

Smell:

The scent of Betsy is lovely, and once I inhaled her lovely scent my nose told me that this could possibly be a beautiful cross of Super Silver Haze and Hawg’s Breath.  The aroma is fluffy in its delivery, bouncing of the walls of the nose with its light semi-sweet cream cheese essence with just a small twist of tart fruitiness and a very faint hint of green tea.

The smell is crazy good and when I pulled a nug apart a skunk and kerosene odor appeared and gave the light smell a unique lively twist.

Taste:

With Betsy broken down and loaded into the ZOB, I fired away with the buds burning smoothly and producing a good amount of smoke.  Inhale went smoothly and I could taste a faint earthy hash flavor that was slowly trailed by a faded cheesy undertone.

Exhale tasted the same but has a little helping of bitter coffee towards the end of the bowl that also left some soot on the lips.  The following hits seemed to be smoother and the flavor stayed intact until the bowl was finished.

Buzz Type:

Betsy has gentle and kind effects that are felt entirely in the dome.  A few moments after exhale the effects hit and seem to softly lift the spirit with a positive and alert euphoria.  A few moments later my eyes grew larger and were feeling drawn to the brief moments of sunlight that would break through this gloomy weather we have been having in SOCAL as of late.

An inspiring momentum started to build that would take me to one of the most pristine positive head highs that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing.  Once the inspired pinnacle is reached, the body feels fuzzy with energy and I was not able to sit still and I was soon on a quest to find anything to get in to.  The comedown is nonexistent and I was didn’t really notice any lag at all so this stuff is really IDEAL for wake-n-bakes.

Buzz Length:

Short.  1 hour 15 minutes.

Overall:

PPC’s Betsy is pretty much one of the best wake-n-bake strains Ldog has had in a minute.  The flavor, smell, and taste are all there, but the flavor could have been richer.  With the flavor slightly muted, the taste is still good and the uplifting and inspiring effects that follow are sure to perk up your mood.

But, however positive and uplifting the effects are, they are short and could have lasted a touch longer.  I still very much enjoyed Betsy and from now on I will be keeping a lookout for some more examples of Betsy as she is going to serve as my morning coffee for the next few weeks.  –LDog
