Purple Power Plant From London Compassion Society (CanadaDank07)
I love the balance of purple and orange in these buds! –Tokeahontas
Now here we have a proper example of Purple Power Plant unlike that photoshopped disgrace of a review that is the most viewed of all nuggetry reviews. What a joke.
When I bought an eighth, it came as one bud. The flower was somewhat loose but with a proper cure the bud tightened up. The PPP was very pretty with a multitude of shades of purple that looked to be natural and temp induced. The bud had a fairly decent coat of pistils that were brown and yarn like. The trim job was tight, which would be expected for in a strain with a high calyx-to-leaf ratio such as this one. The trichomes, although small, are abundant and quite sticky.
One thing that stood out was that many of the trichomes were purple when observed under a microscope. This is a very pretty strain overall.
After receiving a two week cure, the smell of the buds was like black currant, potpourri (floral), and spice. This is the type of smell that will give you a migraine if you are sensitive to them. The buds developed a sweet and tangy concord grape element after busting. There was also a meaty smell in there that developed at the very end of curing. This smell is noxious and penetrating.
Before the cure, the taste was bad and the ash was dark. After curing, the buds took on a great, clean taste. The floral/spicy/black currant smell really comes through on the taste 100%, which was matched by a clean, light grey ash. This bud was grown completely organic and it shows.
For my review I packed a fat bowl in my clean bubbler and took the whole thing in one shot. The first thing I noticed was a very noticeable change in my proprioception (one’s perception of where the body is in space). It felt as if I’d lost 150lb instantly. I was feeling really floaty and light, which was soon accompanied by a heavy head high.
After hitting a second equal sized bowl, I noted strong visuals in the moment I was exhaling. This is some hard hitting stuff, but crescendos into something even greater.
After 10 minutes or so, my ambition to write this review was seriously weakened like the last four times I tried to write it. This time I was determined to stick it out.
True to its name, this is some powerful purple. Like most purples, the buzz is lethargic and sleepy (and somewhat boring in my opinion). I had almost no inspiration or drive to do anything. There is some euphoria there, but it is severely overshadowed by the heavy eyed, slightly dizzy and most of all sleepy experience.
This time, just like every other time, PPP eventually lulled me into a deep sleep. Watch out though, you could very well wake up with sour watermelon slices melted to your face. Trust me, I know!
The stone lasts for roughly an hour and a half (if you don’t fall asleep before that). The burnout seems to lag on forever.
I truly believe it is tough to give strains a rating when it comes down to it because to me, every strain has its place. I think that is part of being a connoisseur of cannabis. I would say that this strain serves its purpose well in making me go to sleep. Aside from that, it is good for curbing an anxiety attack.
Besides those two things, this strain doesn’t have much more need in my diet. I mean, I would try any cannabis strain if it was grown right, which is what I have done here. I would use it for those two purposes stated, but in general I don’t like this strain very much. There is nothing really wrong with it, it is just not for me.
It is not something I would smoke very often, but I can definitely see others loving this strain. It is great as an anti-anxiety smoke but it doesn’t bring you to that next level of euphoria that really good strains should.
With all that said, this sample of PPP was grown really nicely and turned out to be something beautiful after curing. The smell and taste were on par. The buzz was strong and sedating. There were almost no guard leaves left on the buds.
It is during these times that I have trouble grading strains. If I grade it before the cure, I am solely grading the dispensary. If I grade it after the cure, I get to grade both the genetics and the dispensary.
To the LCS, cure your meds longer. To everyone else, look for the Purple Power Plant if you have extreme anxiety/panic attacks, body pain, or insomnia. –CanadaDank07
